K9 Praventa 360 for dogs contains Imidacloprid, Permethrin & Pyriproxyfen, the active ingredients found in K9 Advantix II.
No, the dose volume is slightly bigger on the K9 Praventa 360, therefore you need less active as a percent of the total dose but it delivers the same amount of active as the K9 Advantix II.
It should be applied once per month to protect from fleas and ticks.
Dogs can swim after application but it is recommended that they wait for 24 hours after the topical is applied before doing so.
Once the pet has been towel-dried and no more than once monthly in a soap-free pet shampoo. If a flea shampoo was used, we recommend waiting 7 days to apply the product.
No, never apply a dog product on a cat and never apply a cat product on a dog. The active ingredients in these products are not tolerated well by cats and may cause a reaction and possibly death.
K9 Praventa 360 can be used on a dog that lives in the same household as a cat, however, the cat or cats – particularly those that like to be close to or groom dogs – should be kept separated from a dog that has been treated for about 48 hours, after which time it’s safe for the animals to interact again.
It is not recommended to use multiple flea and tick treatments on your pet at the same time.
This is known as paresthesia and is often temporary. Your dog is experiencing a tingling sensation which may cause them to roll or scratch due to this unfamiliar sensation. It is recommended to wash the product off your dog immediately. If it continues or worsens call your veterinarian.
If your dog continues to scratch, have tremors or salivate wash the topical off of your pet immediately and call your veterinarian.
You need to apply the product on your dog that matches their weight break. If your dogs are different weights, they should use the product properly labeled for their individual weights. The danger is in the dose so it is important to use the appropriate product for both safety and efficacy reasons.
It is very important to have a repellency claim especially if pets are exposed to high levels of infestation. Ideally the pest will be repelled and not treat your pet as a host and minimize flea bites and sucking ticks.
K9 Praventa 360 has a long shelf life when left in the original sealed package and therefore does not include an expiration date.
